I absolutely love taking pictures, and I always have. I have had a camera glued to my side for as long as I could remember! Growing up, many knew me as "the girl with the camera". When I didn't have my camera on hand, I would get separation anxiety. In fact, in 8th grade, I forgot my camera during a week long girls camp trip. All I remember from that trip is how depressed I was because I couldn't take any pictures.
With that being said, my emotions are easily detected at any given moment. The more pictures I am taking, the happier I am. One could say that I wear my heart on my "camera", instead of my sleeve.
Capturing that raw beauty in life moments is what I live for - so why not make a career doing what I love most?
Within me is a  deep appreciation for art. Mixing my love for art with my passion to capture memories is an absolute joy of mine. In regards to photoshop, I was self taught. I hate to admit this, but it was actually my teenage insecurities that really motivated me to learn photoshop at such a young age. I have also taken a few photography classes as well throughout my life.
As for my business name, I felt clever for coming up with it.
I grew up with a lot of girls who had the same name as me: Baylee. To make matters worse, we were all good friends. In order to differentiate between us, we were all designated a specific nickname. This nickname consisted of using the first 3 letters of our first name with the first 3 letters of our last name. Since my name was Baylee Rawson, my nickname then became "BayRaw". From that moment on, people knew me as 'BayRaw". It stuck, even after marriage.
That is not the only intention behind my business name. I also liked the idea of using my name as a pun. Everyone who knows photography knows that "RAW" is part of photography vocabulary. It refers to the image format that is often preferred by photographers due to the lack of image compression. In other words - higher quality images (and yes, I do shoot in RAW). In addition, I love to use "raw" as an adjective in my work, as I want to provide images that capture "raw" natural and beautiful moments in their truest form.
And thus, a pun was formed!
